Table 1 Metrics to characterize marine heatwaves (MHWs) for each year at three sites. Number of MHWs, total duration of all MHWs in a year, maximum observed anomaly above the threshold during a MHW, and the sum of daily intensity anomalies (°C days) follow HobdayĀ et al. (2016). Also provided are the number of anomalous days exceeding the 90th percentile threshold value but not meeting the criteria for inclusion as part of a MHW (i.e. non-MHW days) and the range of MHW duration
